The General Insurance Standards Council has been forced to put back its deadline for the start of transitional period of rule F42, from 1 September to 15 October.
The GISC has had to make the move after the Institute of Insurance Brokers referred rule F42 to the Competition Commission Appeal Tribunal. The tribunal is not expected to make a decision until 16 August, which the GISC felt does not leave enough time for brokers withholding their membership application.
