Amlin strengthens specie team

Amlin has appointed James Farquhar as leading class underwriter, specie, with a brief to build up the account together with class underwriter, Rod Little.

Mr Farquhar joins from Catlin, where his ten-year tenure began as specie underwriter before he was appointed marine business group leader in 2006. Prior to this, he spent three years with Lloyd-Roberts (syndicate 55) as class underwriter responsible for the specie account, while also assuming responsibility for the political risk and war risk account.

According to the company, Mr Farquhar began his 25 year career in insurance as a broker with Lander Eberli Shorter, followed by the Stewart
