Aviva shares climb following reports of audacious RSA approach
According to Sky News, RSA has put in an offer to Aviva for its entire general insurance arm
Aviva's shares have climbed 4% this morning to over 380p following news that the chairman of RSA had made an approach to buy the entire general insurance arm of Aviva within the last few weeks. It is understood Aviva has rejected the offer and there are no ongoing negotiations. The offer is thought to be in excess of £5bn.
Aviva and RSA both refused to comment.
