Sterling uncovers broker confidence schism

david-sweeney-sterling

Research by Sterling Insurance has revealed that 65% of brokers are confident about commercial lines business growth prospects in the next 12 months while over half saw no prospect of growth in personal lines.

The result comes from Sterling's annual broker survey, conducted among hundreds of brokers during April and May 2011.

Respondents were asked to state whether they thought business would deteriorate, stay the same or improve both for their overall business and by personal and commercial lines.

While 65% of brokers believed that commercial lines business will improve in 2011/2012, more than half of brokers (58%) believed that personal lines business would either remain the same or deteriorate.
