JLT delivers good revenue and profit growth for 2011

Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT) has followed the trend of positive financial results in the insurance market with a 13% hike in profits before tax to £147.6m for 2011.

The increase from profits of £130.1m in 2010 was delivered with particularly high growth coming from the company's Asian and Latin American operations.

Revenues were also up 10% to £818.8m (2010: £746.3m).

A statement from JLT highlighted the fact that it had produced 7% organic growth but predicted there would be further growth via acquisitions and minority stakes in other companies.

FSCS gives first insight on increasing levy to £394m

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme has indicated its levy for 2025/26 will rise to £394m from £265m this financial year as it cited having lower surpluses to carry forward and offset bills – a factor that has benefited brokers for two years in a row.
