Southern Rock records £8.7m post-tax profit in 2013

Southern Rock Insurance has reported £8.7m post-tax profit for the year ended 31 December 2013 and cited the move away from its "underperforming business with Brightside" as part of the reason.

The provider also highlighted that it had developed its own online distribution via GoSkippy.com and selected broker partners.

According to the company, it has achieved solid growth in a difficult market by focusing on niche areas.
