As ‘slips and trips’ takeover from ‘crash for cash’ as fraudsters’ favourite plots, Graham Gibson says the industry must work together to identify fraud
As changes in the law close the door on ‘crash for cash’ for many insurance fraudsters, their attention is now turning to ‘slips and trips’.
We’re seeing increases of nearly 10% a year for the last three years in the volume of casualty cases we’re referring for investigation.
Our investigations secured an extra £2.3m in savings last year, compared to the year before. That’s money that may well have added to our clients’ premiums if we hadn’t recovered it.
