SSP: 74% of brokers don't prioritise application fraud

Software house estimates application fraud and inaccuracies for motor insurance alone costs industry £1bn a year.

Nearly three-quarters of brokers don't regard application fraud as a priority even though it costs the industry over £1bn per year according to research by SSP.

Its survey of 301 brokers revealed 74% of brokers said application fraud is not a priority for their business over the next 12 months, with 65% adopting the same view about claims fraud.

The software house said the most successful brokers are more likely to see tackling fraud as a key driver of growth.
