The pandemic was a clear sign for all that the broker must embrace a tech culture, writes Principal MD Dave Bowcock.

There are many lessons to be learned from the challenge that was 2020. Prime among them was the importance of the latest technology, not simply to business success, but survival.

When it first became clear that Covid would demand we rethink our working practices, Principal moved swiftly. Within a week both our Manchester and Dublin operations transitioned from being wholly office to wholly home-based.

Being fast on our feet paid dividends as less agile competitors were forced to temporarily
