PPI complaints top one million

The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) has now received over one million complaints about payment protection insurance (PPI), with the majority of them being in relation to the mis-selling of policies.

The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) received a total of 106,193 complaints between 1 July and 31 December 2011, and figures show that Barclays Bank was by far the biggest culprit in terms of payment protection insurance (PPI) complaints.

PPI complaints soar by 57%

The Financial Ombudsman Services (FOS) has revealed that the number of payment protection insurance (PPI) cases it received increased to 30,301 in the final three months of 2011.
